Professional training

Working with hormonal mental health, with confidence and care.

If you work with women, their hormones are probably already showing up in your sessions. PMS, PMDD, perimenopause and menopause can all look like depression, anxiety, or emotional dysregulation. This training exists to help you recognise what you are seeing, understand it, and work with it well.

A psychologically grounded approach

The CYCLES® Framework supports this work in a way that is clinically robust, psychologically informed, grounded in evidence-based models including CBT, ACT and CFT, and realistic about the lived experience of hormonal mental health difficulties. It is designed to help clinicians hold the complexity of these presentations well, without reducing them to biology alone or placing unrealistic demands on clients.

Is this for you?

This training is designed for qualified mental health professionals who:

  • are already working with clients
  • support people whose mood, capacity, or risk fluctuates with hormonal changes across the lifespan
  • want greater confidence in recognising and working with these presentations
  • are interested in integrating hormone-aware thinking into their existing therapeutic models

This is not a basic therapy training or a certification. It is an orientation designed to support and extend your existing clinical skills.

What this work supports

This training is intended to support professionals who want to:

  • deepen their understanding of PMS, PMDD, perinatal mood difficulties, perimenopause and menopause
  • strengthen formulation when hormonal patterns are central to a client's presentation
  • work more confidently with fluctuating mood, intensity, and risk
  • reduce uncertainty and burnout when supporting clients with high-impact presentations
  • develop a steadier, more sustainable way of working in this area
